How to Become a Paramedic in Arizona

Paramedics are here to help during medical emergency situations, and provide life sustaining or lifesaving care for the patients. This will usually include cardiac defibrillation, shock prevention, stabilizing bones that are broken, immobilizing of the neck, control the bleeding, and CPR. If needed, the paramedic can perform advanced procedures to the patients, but they are performing basic ones most of the time. The state of Arizona requires their paramedic to complete a series of requirements, for them to become eligible for the position. Step #1

Completing a Specific Course

  • There will be specific courses under EMT Paramedics that will be approved by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services in Arizona. These courses are typically taught in the provider’s location of medical services, or at some community colleges. Studying the anatomy of the human will be included in the course, and as well as proper equipment usage, assessing the patients, physiology, ambulance protocols, and some issues that are legal. Passing the Examination

  • It is advisable to have at least a score of 70% in your examination for the National Registry, as Arizona requires this passing grade. Finding a Company

  • After doing the steps above, you can now start looking for a company that hires paramedics for their needs. There are private companies who accept paramedics to work in their company clinics, while there are also government hospital ones. You have the option whether to work in a company or in a government hospital, though most paramedics prefer working in the hospitals for them to be able to practice everything that they have learned during their trainings.
