East Central Community College – Decatur

  • East Central is a comprehensive community college located in Decatur, Mississippi, and we are privileged to serve the 5-county district of Leake, Neshoba, Newton, Scott, and Winston counties in east central Mississippi. Accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, we offer academic transfer, career, technical, workforce training, adult basic education, and personal enrichment courses in various formats including day, evening, weekend, on-line, video-conferencing, intensive, and hybrid formats. These courses are taught by a group of talented and compassionate faculty members who are committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

East Mississippi Community College

  • Some people say community colleges are the best-kept secret in Mississippi, but that’s where you’ll find more than 70 percent of all college freshmen in the Magnolia State. Expand the view a little, and you’ll discover that about half of all undergraduates in the state are attending community colleges. At EMCC, we’re all about knocking down the barriers that stand between people and opportunity. We’re thinking all the time about ways to make education more accessible to more people.

Hinds Community College- Jackson – Jackson

  • Hinds Community College, the largest community college in the state of Mississippi, is a comprehensive educational institution, accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Hinds serves approximately 32,000 students in academic, career/technical, workforce, secondary  and adult education programs each year. Since 1917, Hinds has provided quality educational programs that are convenient and affordable. With six locations, the college draws students from more than 70 Mississippi counties and ranks as the fourth largest institution of higher learning in the state.

Holmes Community College – Ridgeland

  • Holmes Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the associate degree and certificates.  Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500, or at http://www.sacscoc.org for questions about the accreditation of Holmes Community College. The college seeks to prepare its students for university transfer, productive employment and lifelong learning by offering an Associate in Arts degree, Associate in Applied Science degree, technical certificates and career certificates as well as workforce training. Holmes, whose primary commitment is to excellence in all areas, offers affordable, equal access to higher education in an attractive, secure, multi-campus environment.

Itawamba Community College – Tupelo

  • Itawamba Community College began as an extension of Itawamba County Agricultural High School, one of the largest high schools in Mississippi, which was organized in 1920. In 1941, the trustees extended the curriculum to provide for two years of college work. However, World War II postponed the plans for buildings and equipment to pursue college status. In March 1948, the boards of supervisors and school boards of Itawamba, Lee and Monroe counties unanimously and harmoniously agreed to support Itawamba Junior College. A full freshman college curriculum was offered for the first time during the 1948-49 session, and sophomore work, during 1949-50.

Jones County Junior College – Ellisville

Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College – Gulfport

  • We have everything you need right here at MGCCC. From academic transfer programs to workforce training, you can get the latest in technology and instruction to prepare you for the “real world.” We work hard to meet your needs—whether you need help with financial aid or with homework—and we want to be the best we can for you. We are the only community college in Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana to be in the top 100 associate degree producers in the nation. We are affordable, with tuition that is one of the lowest in the state, and we have a textbook rental service that can save you a ton of money.

Northwest Mississippi Community College – Senatobia

  • The mission of Northwest Mississippi Community College is to provide the students of its eleven-county district and beyond with opportunities for obtaining affordable quality education to meet their diverse needs. The comprehensive community and technical college offers students educational experiences through traditional campus-based and distance learning opportunities. Northwest is committed to achieving the following goals: to promote excellence in educational programs; to maintain quality educational support services; to continue responsive administrative processes; to ensure efficient use of financial and physical resources; and to assure institutional effectiveness. Northwest Mississippi Community College meets the educational, employment, career, cultural, and special needs of its students and the community through the offering of:
  • Academic and career technical curricula leading to certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees;
  • University-parallel courses and programs meeting requirements of the first two years of a baccalaureate degree;
  • Workforce Development training designed to meet current and future workforce needs in business and industry;
  • A comprehensive program of remedial and developmental education;
  • Continuing education and service programs for the community;
  • Student support through tutoring, guidance, counseling, career information and placement; and,
  •  Services including library services, cultural and enrichment opportunities, information technology services, and extracurricular activities for students and the community.
