Erie Community College

ECC is a member of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, and is fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Many of the professional curricula are also accredited by specialized agencies. ECC is the fourth largest, and most administratively efficient, of all 30 SUNY community colleges.

Finger Lakes Community College was established in 1965 and opened for instruction in 1967. Set on a 250-acre, park-like campus, the College is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. It is a public, open access institution dedicated to providing a quality education in a student-centered environment.

Hudson Valley Community College serves approximately 13,500 students each semester, and employs more than 630 full- and part-time faculty members. Currently the second-largest institution of higher learning in the Capital Region of New York State, Hudson Valley Community College offers more than 70 degree and certificate programs through its four schools: Business; Engineering & Industrial Technologies; Health Sciences; and Liberal Arts and Sciences. Although 80 percent of Hudson Valley’s students come from the immediate Capital Region, the rest come from every county of New York State and many other states and foreign countries. The college ranks 52nd (as of the 2007-08 academic year) nationally in the number of associate degrees awarded annually, and has more than 65,000 alumni.

Jefferson Community College is one of 64 campuses—and one of 30 community colleges—which comprise the State University of New York (SUNY) system; it is the only institution of higher education whose campus is within a 50 mile radius of the city of Watertown, NY. The College is supervised by the State University of New York and sponsored by Jefferson County. The College offers 13 A.A.S. career curricula, 14 transfer A.A. or A.S. curricula, and 9 certificate programs. Six degree programs are available entirely online.

Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. The college offers more than 60 associate and certificate programs.

The Division of Adult and Continuing Education offers a wide variety of non-credit educational, business and professional programs for adults, families and the community in New York City. You can choose from literacy and GED services; academic courses; English as a Second Language classes; college preparation; programs for deaf adults; and personal development classes, among others. Our programs are free or reasonably priced, providing educational and professional opportunities for everyone. In addition, the Division’s comprehensive business and financial services are boosting the local economy by strengthening existing businesses and helping new entrepreneurs to successfully launch their companies. The Division also fosters career and workforce development in the area by providing extensive employment services, vocational training and career and professional programs to all residents through our Workforce1 Career Center and other initiatives.

In 2007, New York Methodist Hospital reorganized all of its allied health educational programs and created the Center for Allied Health Education. The Center occupies 13,000 square feet of state of the art educational space. The facility includes seven (7) classrooms, eleven (11) lab rooms, a twenty-five (25) computer station library, a student lounge, a faculty lounge/office and a large administrative suite. The facility has laboratory equipment necessary to enhance the different educational programs including but not limited to: x-ray machines, ultrasound machines, microscopes, EMS equipment, venipuncture arms and CPR and First Aid equipment.

BMCC reflects the best of downtown Manhattan: the culture of Tribeca, the vibrancy of Wall Street, and the promise of the Statue of Liberty. New York City is exciting and dynamic, and as a BMCC student, you become an integral part of the community. BMCC enrolls approximately 24,000 students in degree-programs and 12,000 more in continuing education programs. Our students come from the New York City area, and all over the world. An international college, BMCC has students from over 155 countries, who speak a variety of languages.
